Granite entryways show a genuine elegance. Granite is durable; because it is very resistant to stains, unpredicted drops of heavy object and heat. Having granite floor tiles makes for a luxurious investment and is functional for your home. You can install them in many areas such as entryways, kitchens and bathrooms. You can commit a lot of money in granite tiles. With this investment you want to maintain their care on a regular basis.
Once each year you should re-apply the sealant to keep the granite a glossy shine and protect it from any damage caused by heavy objects, or regular foot traffic. Besides keeping it sealed once a year, there are other periodic activities you should do to keep your granite floor tiles looking new.
Small chips lead to big cracks or even breaks so you must look over the edges and the grout. Replace anything that is damaged as soon as possible. Check the seams for any dried out sections in the grout that are damaged. An uneven spot when the granite was installed can do this.
Make sure you wipe up any spills as soon as you see them. If you drop something on them pick it up immediately. Also any dirt or mud should be mopped up ASAP then swept to keep any small particles of rock from getting into the granite or scratch the surface.
You need to clean the tiles daily to keep the tile's beauty for a long time. Dry mopping the tiles everyday is essential. At least once a day you should use a dry mop or duster on the granite. This prevents dust and rock particles from building up on the tiles. Always use the proper approved granite cleaners. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, detergents or bleach. This type of cleaners can discolor the granite tile. Precision Marble and Tile or the manufacturer can recommend what type of cleaners to use. For everyday cleaning warm water and soap works well. You will need to rinse the tiles to get rid of the residue left behind.
If you have a large discoloration, or stain, in our granite floor tiles, then consult a professional cleaner who will have the equipment to do the job right without damaging the floors. You might damage the floor more with trial and error if you have never used any floor polishers before.
